Lazy Days of Summer?

So, my plan was to write an awesome post about some cool things I’ve seen lately but life, in the form of six loads of laundry, intervened. I decided that I should stop procrastinating and get it done… Which I did.

I also finished the last book of the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy (more on that in another post)…

image

… downloaded a new eBook called The Black God’s War

image

… signed up for the email list for my friend Robin Burks upcoming debut novel Zeus, INC

image

… played around with a photo editing app called Pixlr

edited and added to some of my boards on Pinterest

… checked out the girly glam blog, This Is Glamorous

image

… made two playlists on Spotify and listened to Nero’s Welcome Reality

Um, but not necessarily in that order! Anyway, that’s what I did with my day off. I didn’t really do anything but I feel like that was a lot for one day! Until next time…

Totally Inspiring Room (and Blog)

Last might I decided to go hunting for French style interiors that were primarily green… Yeah, that was a “good luck with that” kind of a search! I will definitely have to keep looking for French greens…

But while I was hunting around I found a blog called Plum Sienna written by Annie, who has an obsession with wallpaper, wall finishes, and aged elegance. Her blog is full of absolutely gorgeous finishing techniques for walls – plaster, lime, gilding,  lacquer… you name it, it’s probably there. The photos are gorgeous and she often gives you a really solid but simple overview of how these techniques work. Please check out her current and previous blogs (there are total gems on both sites): Plum Sienna and Rose & Lis.

Today’s inspiration room is from Plum Sienna and has the most exquisite color combination I’ve ever seen. I’m totally in love! The color of the artwork? Get out!

I hope your week is going well and Thursday finds you safe and sound (especially after all the tornado and storm warnings throughout the southeast).

Before & After: Sunroom

I found this post on Design Blooms via Little Green Notebook: A sweet before and after of a sunroom. This space is so cute and happy, I just had to share. Plus? The palette is gorgeous. Here’s some Monday afternoon design inspiration for you!

Wary Meyers Shop

I was introduced to Wary Meyers through a Domino magazine article on owners Linda and John Meyers. Their style was wildly eclectic and chock full of over the top exuberance. Not really my taste but there were some pieces that were too cool to ignore… and the amazing and starkly evident love for unusual thrift store finds struck a chord.

Opening spread if the Domino article.

A couple of years later, I’m floating through the book warehouse to pull a new book for an order. The title? Tossed and Found. It’s cover featured a well loved leather chair with a hot pink and gold lightning bolt sewn down the middle of the seat and seat back. I paused (which I only did for interesting covers, sort of a side obsession of mine) to flip through it – not realizing at all what I was looking at.

Yeah, I bought it and this:

New Moon Changes

image

image

OK, it isn’t really a ‘new moon’s! It is a catchy title though, right? I took these two pics on the way home from work. I just thought the clear sky and the mix of bare and evergreen trees with the moon hanging above them was a beautiful sight!

Speaking if beautiful sites… OK. Full disclosure (and slight change of subject): I’m combining my blogs together. So if you go back in the archives you’ll see a lot of posts on yarn crafts and sewing. You might see a few more pop up that are about books and their covers. I decided to just follow all my interests on As Is. I mean, really, they’re all integrated in my life so why seperate them when I’m blogging? I’ll be simplifying my categories and looking for a theme that makes all the subjects I have and will be covering look good. If you have any suggestions feel free to drop me a line!

Friday Finds

Here is the rundown of some of my favorite discoveries This week:

image

image

More of Sandra Suy’s artwork. It’s official, I’m hooked! I was turned on to her artwork by a N.E.E.T. magazine article and I’ve been a fan ever since. She has an Etsy shop where you can buy select prints or you can view some of her portfolio work on Dripbook.

I’m sure this has been around for a while… but it is new to me: Kelly Wearstler’s china collections for Pickard.

Mullholland Pattern

image
Trousdale
There is another pattern available at Pickard… totally mix and matchable, right!? She’s also got a blog now!

image
Anthropologie’s Arthurian knobs. These filigree beauties would be really pretty on a gray, greige, or black lacquer furniture piece. Or a nude pink – my new favorite color!

image
Speaking of nude pinks – Benjamin Moore’s Bashful is a lovely example.

image
The Voliere Drum Table Lamp at The Conran Shop. This whimsical little lamp is also available as a floor lamp or a large or small pendant.

image
I love anything and everything to do with Anthropologie… so I was excited to learn that they now have a dedicated online wedding shop called BHLDN. Their amazing aesthetic is evident in all the pieces here, definitely check it out! There is tons to coo over.

That’s all from me this week; I’ll see you on Monday. Have a fabulous weekend!
