At work today so I can’t get too into my post. Here’s an oldie but goody from Domino. From Claire Forlani’s house. Beautiful.
Happy hump day, y’all!

Happy hump day, y’all!
I love black doors! The first time I realized I was leaning towards this was when I saw an article in Elle Decoration about an art collector and her husband who’d redone the interior of an old Victorian in a completely modern style. The floors, trim, and doors were a deep, glossy black and the walls were a super bright white. The whole place was flooded with light and the colorful art stood out beautifully. Ever since then I’ve been a fan of the look.
Nate Berkus’ Chicago apartment as featured in O.
Nate Berkus did the doors of an apartment of his featured in O a couple of years back a blue so dark that in some photos it read as black.
The entry of designer Michael Bargo’s apartment from the last issue of Domino Magazine.
But my favorite of all time was the apartment of twentysomething designer, Michael Bargo, for the Domino issue on style at every age. His whole apartment was totally gorgeous – and featured black doors!
Here are a few more examples of totally cool black doors and entries.

What are your favorite colors for interior doors? Have a colorful Monday!
Its a soft, gray, rainy day here in Charlotte today. I was planning on putting these pics but the soft, muted colors seem especially appropriate given the melancholy Springs weather.
Here is a serving of rain washed colors for this not so sunny spring day:
Soft pinks, gray, and white dominate this set. (Sources: unknown, Domino, Elle Decor, unknown.)
Washed out bluish gray and Sterling rose lavenders create a moody ambience. (Sources: unknown, Domino, unknown, Champagne & Macarons blog.)
Soft gray-browns, white, and silver. (Sources: Mallory Morrison Photography, Greige blog, unknown, Elle Decoration Australia.)
Have a great Friday and a (hopefully) sunnier weekend!
Today, a full spectrum spread.

It is gloomy and rainy here. I guess that’s those spring showers everyone talks about. I think I understand now hy springtime is the time when everyone breaks out the pastels – it’s a cool way to transition back into color after winters soft neutrals. So, for this Monday – pastel inspiration. Hope you all have a great week!
In all honesty, I’ve never had a place that’s big enough for me to have a guest room. I’m still a one bedroom city dweller that offers up a cushy couch and extra blankets to out of town visitors. One day I hope to have an extra room dedicated to making my friends and family a haven during their travels… so today I’m posting a selection of guest bedrooms. I’m a fan of the double twin layout… I think it gives you more options.
Traditonal gray, blue, and white fabrics mix with a sleek modern table.
Bold pattern and classic colors create a serene guest space.
More classic style – crisp black and white!
Bold blue, stripes, and crisp white cheer up this graphic guest space.
Tonal greens with patterns and textures create interest here.
Have a happy Tuesday everyone. Enjoy!
Here’s a look at some pink interiors. The latest issue of House Beautiful is all about this versatile color and features a plethora of options for using it in your home. It totally inspired me to be on the lookout for beautiful pink rooms… Here are some that I found while browsing last night. Enjoy!
I’m a fan of wood floors. Probably because I have some mild allergies. Or maybe it’s because while I was growing up, I lived in apartments and I always had to look at and live with cream colored carpet (the often ignored or forgotten plane of the ubiquitous “plain white box”).
Wood floors have a look and feel that can’t be achieved with any other material. For me they look warm and have so much more depth and interest than wall to wall carpet. And though, generally speaking, I love wood floors of all colors and configurations, my favorite is a herringbone floor… Crisp, beautiful chevrons laid out side by side, creating an almost 3D effect when viewed from the right angle. I don’t think there is a more beautiful style of wood floor pattern! So, today I’m offering some favorite pics of this beautiful style (including one that I tore out of a Met Home years ago and lost the clipping of. I found it again online last night!).
Do you have a favorite type of flooring material and layout pattern?
