The library in the home of Jackie Astier via Elle Decor.
My taste is changing… Again! For a while there I was leaning towards the Hollywood glam revival (epitomized by decorator Mary MacDonald). I still like elements of that style: bold patterns, lacquered surfaces, and blingy metals. But, as I mentioned yesterday, part of me loves the relaxed and collected refinement of (personal fave) Thomas O’Brien.
I think today’s room captures a little bit of both. This is the library of stylist Jackie Astier. I love the mix of textures and shine, faux Bois wallpaper and the mirror (a screen?) on the corner table. It looks inviting and comfy… and sexy.
See the rest of the apartment here… and have a great Tuesday everyone! 🙂
So, I’m doing another inspiration room this week! I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this gem of kitchen with you:
Lindsay Reid’s Pasadena cottage kitchen from the June 2011 issue of House Beautiful.
This room is so elegant and simple. I love the dark gray cabinets, the coolly linear backsplash, the warmth of the textiles on the window and window seat… and the complete lack of upper cabinets. I’ve seen some really beautiful kitchens but I think this one is definitely vying for first place on my list of favorites.
What do you think of this kitchen? Love it or hate it?
