Carried Away

image

My favorite thing is a new bath and body fragrance from Bath & Body Works called Carried Away. I first tried some on just before Christmas while I was shopping for my Secret Santa recipient. I saw they had a few new scents and I tried on two: Paris Amour and Carried Away. I ended up buying my friend the classic and well loved Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Cut to last Friday, after leaving the Kent Station AMC (I saw Underworld: Awakening and Haywire), I decided to check out Bath & Body Works to see if they had any deals on. They did. But I wanted to make sure I was going to like how Carried Away smelled on me before I committed to full size bottles. I bought a set of travel bottles to test it out.

I’m very happy with the light fruity floral scent of this fragrance. I’m definitely going to for the full size bottles the next time I stop by Bath & Body Works.

I hope you’re all having a fantastic Thursday, I’ll catch you tomorrow. 🙂

Totally Inspiring Room

image

From an LA magazine called C. This room is so pretty with it’s lovely balance of light, dark, and rich textures. Plus, I have yet to see a room featuring Anthropologie’s Campaign bed that wasn’t improved by its presence. The suzani as coverlet, offset chandelier, and small gilt framed art are all nice touches. All in all, a completely inspiring room.

Happy Tuesday all!

In the Green Room…

I’m posting late today, I know. I just started a new job so I’ve been a little preoccupied! Still, that’s no reason to skip this Monday’s color post… and here it is – all things green. Enjoy!

The first time I saw this kitchen was in Elle Decoration UK. I loved the open shelving a the pretty green mosaic tiles.

Does grasscloth ever look bad?

Honestly, my favorite thing about this room is the coffee table but I also love all the different shades of green an yellow working in harmony.

Tobias Fairley also mixes greens here in this living room… the blue and white accents really make it pop.

Definitely green… but subtly so.

Making a focal point out of a green table is genius.

A solid and massive emerald green coffee table makes this room full of neutrals interesting.

Heath Ceramics subway tiles in multiple shades of green lend this simple bathroom depth and energy.

Blue Monday

I had a super low key weekend… you know the kind where you watch every movie you own while making all that popcorn stock you bought really work for you? Seriously though, when I wasn’t loafing around, I was looking for some blue rooms to inspire myself and you with. Have a happy Monday!

A beautiful, rich, dark blue room. I’d love to know who designed it!

Interior from the new Architectural Digest with Margaret Russell editing! Wow. If this is any indicator of what’s to com from AD… I might have to subscribe!

View of a Steven Gambrel room. So so beautiful!

A Vicente Wolf room. I love that canopied daybed with all the blue cushions!

JK Hotel from Lonny Magazine. Blue, black, and cream is starting to seem like a never fail combo! I love the big wing chairs and glossy black accents.

This soft Robin’s Egg blue lacquered living room is a standout.

image
A Miles Redd living room also with lacquered walls. I love the mix here of blue, brown, black, cream, and red. This room looks really livable doesn’t it?

Kelly Wearstler hotel restaurant design. Does she ever fail to knock a room out of the ballpark?

Let there be light!

There is a new issue of Lonny out now! I LOVE that mag. I mean, could it be any cooler if it tried? Anywho, in the front with all the cool, newly discovered products are a couple of lamps that floated my light fixture lovin’ boat. Featured above:

Tom Dixon’s Etch Light – exclusive to Design Within Reach here in the US, made through some really cool use of production technology… and seriously sexy too!

The table lamp is the Tulip Family Lamp at Hive Modern. This tall, cage-like looker would be great in an entry hall or swank, Wearstler-esque living room.

I heart Lonny for finding these great pieces. It is one of the many reasons I swoon over every issue. Check out their latest.
